Botulinum toxin A in the treatment of lines & wrinkles
When it comes to treating wrinkles, the trend is towards gentle methods. You don't want to radically change your appearance, but simply look younger and fresher quickly.
Whenever excessive muscle contractions caused discomfort or other symptoms, botulinum toxin A could be used to help easily and safely.
It is now the method of choice for making forehead wrinkles, frown lines and crow's feet disappear around the corners of the eyes. In addition to these applications, new findings have expanded the range of treatments with Botox. Lip flip, gummy smile (highly visible gums when smiling), Cleopatra lifting, teeth grinding (bruxism) or the paving stone chin are the new additional indications for Botox therapy. The method is fast, bloodless and very safe. After treatment, you are immediately socially acceptable again. In America, this is also referred to as a lunchtime procedure.
Before treatment, a targeted anamnesis is carried out and any contraindications are discussed in detail. After disinfection, a small amount of botulinum toxin A is injected into the wrinkle-causing muscles. Thanks to the new vibrational anesthesia introduced in our practice, the treatment is virtually painless. Local anesthesia can also be performed in regions that are particularly sensitive to pain, such as the lips.
The first results can be seen within 3-5 days. The skin becomes smoother, wrinkles disappear, facial features appear rejuvenated and more relaxed. In contrast to some lifting operations, the facial expression remains natural.
The full effect is achieved after about 1 week and persists for approx. 4-6 months.
Botulinum toxin against increased perspiration
Botulinum toxin blocks the transmission of nerve impulses to the sweat glands. Excessive sweating in the armpits can be treated very effectively. The effect lasts up to 9 months and can then be easily repeated, which can also extend the duration of action.

A new range of applications for botulinum toxin comes from the USA: The lip flip
With this new technique, Botox is injected specifically into defined areas of the lip in order to slightly rotate the lip outwards and thus achieve natural lip enlargement.
This new process is particularly suitable for people with a narrow upper lip who want their lip to appear visually fuller, but who value a natural result.
Gummy Smile
Even though the smile in which you see too many gums is described by some as radiant, it still does not meet the usual ideal of beauty.
Placed Botox injection into the lifting muscle of the upper lip provides a remedy. It is only important to administer a small amount of Botox, as you do not want to completely switch off the muscle, but only to achieve targeted weakening.
Teeth Grinding
The causes of mostly unconscious teeth grinding have not yet been clearly identified medically. However, stress is considered one of the main triggers. The range of therapies ranges from teething splint to fascia roller to autogenic training.
New to the field is the injection of botulinum toxin into the affected chewing muscles, with the aim of reducing muscle activity and thus preventing the crunch that occurs particularly at night.
For this indication, it is worthwhile to ask the responsible health insurance companies to cover the costs.
Cleopatra Lifting
This treatment accentuates and contours the chin/jaw line (jawline). Used preventively, the repeated treatment protects against wrinkles in the neck area.
hyaluronic filler
During botulinum toxin A The ideal remedy for treating wrinkles in the upper face area, fillers are the product of choice for the lower area. Only, enzymatically produced hyaluronic acids, i.e. not of animal origin, are used. For this reason, hypersensitivity reactions are extremely rare, one of the reasons why no skin test is necessary before use.
The fillers have different concentrations of hyaluronic acid, so that you can use the optimal preparation for every type of wrinkle. In addition to lips, nasolabial wrinkles and marionette wrinkles are the main areas of treatment. But originally very deep wrinkles in the forehead area, which have not completely disappeared 14 days after botulinium therapy, can also be treated with hyaluronic acid. Both processes complement each other perfectly.
Removing wrinkles usually does not require pain relief; if it does, it can be pretreated with an anesthetic ointment. Lip augmentation and contouring are usually performed under local anesthesia due to greater sensitivity.
During the approximately 20-minute treatment, the crystal-clear gel is injected into the skin in fine doses. The gel restores the skin's natural volume, the wrinkles are smoothed out and the gentle rejuvenating effect is immediately visible.
Rare side effects such as reddening of the skin, swelling, itching, or discoloration may occur but usually disappear 1-2 days after the injection.
The effect of the treatment lasts approximately 6-9 months and can then be repeated at any time.
Retinol Medical Peeling
Retinol is a highly effective form of vitamin A.
The professionally applied scrub increases cell turnover, which triggers desquamation of the old horn cells on the skin surface but also increases collagen synthesis in the deeper layers of the skin.
The pores are refined, wrinkles are smoothed out, skin firmness is increased and any pigmentation spots are visibly faded. Retinol is also successfully used in the treatment of acne scars.
The treatment lasts a maximum of 30 minutes and should be carried out two to three times at intervals of approximately 4 weeks. After treatment, an uncomplicated care regime must be observed; the care products to be used are included in the treatment price. A new product in the Belotero range, Belotero Revive, intensely moisturizes the skin and supports its firmness and elasticity. It is used to boost skin quality, but also to compensate for fine, superficial wrinkles.
Radiesse dilute
Radiesse dilute offers a completely new approach to skin regeneration. The radiesse thinning is produced in practice and applied painlessly using atraumatic cannulas. This special technique makes it possible to treat even larger areas of the face or neck area without pain.
Radiesse Dilute works in two ways: initially it has a mild filling and smoothing effect, but this is significantly reinforced over time by the biostimulatory effect of the preparation. This also explains the long-lasting effect lasting up to 2 years. The hands often show a person's true age. Radiesse Dilute balances volume deficiencies and enables long-lasting rejuvenation of the back of the hand through the biostimulation of collagens and elastic fibers.

With the product Belotero Volume, we have a gel available that is characterized by its excellent malleability and powerful volume creation.
Loss of volume in the area of the cheeks and temples can thus be compensated. The gel literally melts with the skin and integrates seamlessly for visibly long-lasting results.
The special preparation Radiesse can be used both for injecting deep facial wrinkles and for contouring the face, for example in the area of the zygomatic arches or the jaw/chin line. The treatment results are immediately visible and can last up to one year.
Questions & answers
- We are the first practice in Austria to use vibrating anesthesia. With a device developed in the USA, we can virtually reduce injection pain to 0.
- Areas that are particularly sensitive to pain, such as the mouth and lip region, are first treated with an anesthetic ointment, or we inject a locally acting anesthetic.
- Slight redness disappears after about 15 to 30 minutes. In rare cases, a bruise may form, which subsides after about 2 — 7 days. The healing of hematomas can be accelerated by applying heparin ointment. It is possible to apply make-up just one hour after the treatment.
- First effects, after a treatment you can see after about 2-3 days, the full treatment success after approx. 7 days.
- The effects of filler therapy are visible immediately after application.
- Between 20 minutes and 1 hour, depending on the areas to be treated.
- Cleaning and disinfecting the area to be treated.
- Possibly cooling with ice pads. The filler or botulinum toxin or even the threads are then applied with very fine needles, in some cases also with blunt needles (atraumatic). After the injection, the treated area can be cooled again.
- At the end of the treatment, an ointment is applied, a combination of an antibiotic and a corticoid.
- The botulinum toxin is distributed particularly well through accentuated facial expressions.
- Rubbing and massaging the treated areas should be avoided for the first 2-3 hours after treatment.
- Sauna and direct sunlight should be avoided for 2 days.
- Possibly cooling with ice pads. The filler or botulinum toxin or even the threads are then applied with very fine needles, in some cases also with blunt needles (atraumatic). After the injection, the treated area can be cooled again.
- Occasionally, slight headaches may occur for a short time.
- Small bruises in the area of the injection sites occur, but can be easily covered and treated well with heparin ointment, for example.
- As part of a botulinum toxin A treatment, incorrect administration or diffusion of the active ingredient into another muscle can lead to adverse side effects. A typical example would be the sinking of the eyebrow. However, this happens extremely rarely and is limited in time.
- In theory, all therapies described can also cause infections, which is why careful hygienic work is a matter of course.
